  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with fan.
  2. 2. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice.
  3. 3. Peel the apples and cut them into quarters.
  4. 4. Remove the core and seeds from the apple quarters.
  5. 5. Cut the apple quarters into thin slices.
  6. 6. Fill a bowl with about 500 milliliters of water and some lemon juice.
  7. 7. Place the apple slices in the lemon water bowl and set aside.
  8. 8. Put the soft butter into a separate bowl.
  9. 9. Beat the butter with a hand mixer and whisk until fluffy.
  10. 10. Add 200 grams of sugar, vanilla sugar, and the eggs to the butter one by one.
  11. 11. Continue mixing until the mixture is fluffy.
  12. 12. Add flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt to the batter.
  13. 13. Stir everything with the milk and the hand mixer until you have a smooth batter.
  14. 14. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  15. 15. Spread the batter evenly on the baking tray.
  16. 16. Place the apple slices closely together on the batter.
  17. 17. Sprinkle the almond slivers over the apple cake.
  18. 18. Bake the cake for about 25 minutes in the oven.
  19. 19. Take the apple cake with almonds out of the oven.
  20. 20. Let the cake cool down.
  21. 21. Dust powdered sugar over the cooled cake.
