  2. 2. Cook the gnocchi for about four minutes until they float to the surface.
  3. 3. Drain the gnocchi in a colander and let them drip dry.
  4. 4. Halve the onion and peel it.
  5. 5. Finely chop the onion.
  6. 6. Peel the garlic.
  7. 7. Finely chop the garlic.
  8. 8. Wash the cherry tomatoes.
  9. 9. Halve the cherry tomatoes.
  10. 10. Wash the basil.
  11. 11. Shake the basil dry.
  12. 12. Finely chop the basil.
  13. 13. Heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  14. 14. Sauté the onion and garlic for about two minutes until they are colorless.
  15. 15. Add the tomatoes to the pan.
  16. 16. Cook the tomatoes for another five minutes.
  17. 17. Season the tomatoes with salt, pepper, and sugar.
  18. 18. Add the gnocchi to the tomatoes.
  19. 19. Add half of the chopped basil to the tomatoes.
  20. 20. Mix everything well.
  21. 21. Plate the gnocchi.
  22. 22. Sprinkle the remaining basil over the gnocchi.
  23. 23. Serve the dish.
