  1. 1. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly, halve them, remove the stems, and chop roughly. Halve and peel the onions and garlic, then dice finely.
  2. 2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the vegetables in it for about 10 minutes until the tomatoes release their juice and the onions become soft and translucent.
  3. 3. Reduce the heat and use a ladle to press 4 indentations into the vegetables. Crack the eggs and carefully place them into the indentations. Cover and cook for approx. 3–4 minutes.
  4. 4. Season the shakshuka with salt and pepper and serve together with country-style bread. Enjoy your meal!
