🍳 Schakschuka – Eggs in Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- Vine tomatoes 500 g
- Onions, yellow 2 pcs.
- Garlic cloves 1 pcs.
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Eggs 4 pcs.
- Salt pinch
- Pepper, black ground pinch
- Country-style bread 4 slices
Instructions
- 1. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly, halve them, remove the stems, and chop roughly. Halve and peel the onions and garlic, then dice finely.
- 2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the vegetables in it for about 10 minutes until the tomatoes release their juice and the onions become soft and translucent.
- 3. Reduce the heat and use a ladle to press 4 indentations into the vegetables. Crack the eggs and carefully place them into the indentations. Cover and cook for approx. 3–4 minutes.
- 4. Season the shakshuka with salt and pepper and serve together with country-style bread. Enjoy your meal!
