🍽️ Hearty Sauerkraut and Potato Stew

Ingredients
- yellow onions 2 pcs
- fresh parsley 10 g
- potatoes, mainly firm 500 g
- oil 2 tbsp
- bacon strips 100 g
- sauerkraut 500 g
- dried bay leaves 1 pcs
- juniper berries 2 pcs
- apple juice 200 ml
- vegetable broth 800 ml
- cabanossi 300 g
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Halve the onions and peel them.
- 2. Wash the parsley, shake it dry, and pick the leaves off the stems.
- 3. Peel the potatoes and wash them.
- 4. Cut the potatoes into cubes of about 2 cm.
- 5. Place the potato pieces into the deep steam cooking insert.
- 6. Put the parsley into the mixing bowl.
- 7. Chop the parsley for 5 seconds on speed 8.
- 8. Transfer the chopped parsley into a bowl and set it aside.
- 9. Put the halved onions into the mixing bowl.
- 10. Chop the onions for 4 seconds on speed 8.
- 11. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula.
- 12. Add the oil and the bacon cubes.
- 13. Fry the mixture for 3 minutes on the sauté setting.
- 14. Add the sauerkraut, bay leaf, juniper berries, apple juice, and vegetable broth.
- 15. Place the deep steam cooking insert onto the appliance.
- 16. Steam the stew for 20 minutes on the steam cooking setting.
- 17. Meanwhile, cut the Cabanossi sausage into pieces of about 1 cm.
- 18. After the 20 minutes are up, put the sausage pieces into the mixing bowl.
- 19. Steam the sausage for another 10 minutes on the steam cooking setting.
- 20. Season the stew to taste with salt and pepper.
- 21. Add the pre-cooked potatoes to the stew.
- 22. Sprinkle the dish with the prepared parsley.
- 23. Serve the stew hot and enjoy your meal!
