🍽️ Fried Shrimp Sandwiches with Chili-Honey Sauce

Ingredients
- shrimp raw, frozen 400 g
- spring onions 3 pcs.
- ginger, fresh 5 g
- cilantro, fresh 10 g
- eggs 1 pc.
- soy sauce 2 tbsp
- Sriracha sauce 4 tbsp
- honey 1 tbsp
- toast bread 8 slices
- butter 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Thaw the shrimp overnight in the refrigerator.
- 2. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (top and bottom heat).
- 3. Peel the shrimp and wash them thoroughly.
- 4. Finely chop the shrimp.
- 5. Wash the spring onions and shake them dry.
- 6. Remove the root ends of the spring onions.
- 7. Slice the spring onions into fine rings.
- 8. Peel the ginger.
- 9. Finely chop the ginger.
- 10. Wash the cilantro and shake it dry.
- 11. Remove the thick stems from the cilantro.
- 12. Finely chop the cilantro.
- 13. Separate the egg yolk from the egg white.
- 14. Use the egg white for another purpose.
- 15. Place the chopped shrimp in a bowl.
- 16. Add the sliced spring onions to the bowl.
- 17. Add the chopped ginger to the bowl.
- 18. Add the chopped cilantro to the bowl.
- 19. Add the egg yolk to the bowl.
- 20. Mix all ingredients in the bowl thoroughly.
- 21. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce to the shrimp mixture.
- 22. Add 1 tablespoon of Sriracha sauce to the shrimp mixture.
- 23. Season the mixture to taste.
- 24. Place 3 tablespoons of Sriracha sauce in a separate bowl for the sauce.
- 25. Add 1 tablespoon of honey to the Sriracha sauce.
- 26. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce to the sauce.
- 27. Whisk the sauce ingredients together well.
- 28. Taste the sauce and adjust if necessary.
- 29. Evenly distribute the shrimp mixture onto 4 slices of toast.
- 30. Top the toast slices with the remaining slices of toast.
- 31. Press the sandwiches down lightly.
- 32. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat.
- 33. Fry the shrimp sandwiches for about 5 to 8 minutes on both sides until golden brown.
- 34. Place the pan with the sandwiches in the oven for about 5 minutes.
- 35. Check if the shrimp are fully cooked.
- 36. Serve the shrimp sandwiches.
- 37. Serve the homemade sweet chili sauce on the side.
