Ingredients
- Organic lemons 6 pcs
- Sea salt 80 g
- Pepper, mixed 1 tsp
Instructions
- 1. Rinse a large jam jar thoroughly with hot water.
- 2. Cut one lemon in half and squeeze out the juice.
- 3. Rinse the remaining lemons under hot water.
- 4. Carefully pat the lemons dry.
- 5. Cut each lemon crosswise from the tip down to the middle, leaving the bottom attached.
- 6. Gently squeeze each lemon.
- 7. Remove the seeds from the lemons.
- 8. Fill 1 to 2 teaspoons of salt into the cuts of each lemon.
- 9. Press the lemons back together firmly.
- 10. Bring about 1 liter of water to a boil in a pot.
- 11. Pack the lemons tightly into the jar.
- 12. Distribute the remaining salt and pepper evenly in the jar.
- 13. Pour the previously squeezed lemon juice over them.
- 14. Add enough boiling water to completely cover the lemons.
- 15. Seal the jar tightly.
- 16. Store the jar in a cool, dark place.
- 17. Let the lemons cure for at least 8 weeks.
- 18. Store the finished salted lemons in the refrigerator.
- 19. Ensure the lemons are always covered with liquid.
