  2. 2. Wash the leaves thoroughly.
  3. 3. Let the lettuce drain off the water.
  4. 4. Slice the snack cucumbers into thin rounds.
  5. 5. Slice the gherkins into rounds as well.
  6. 6. Peel the onion.
  7. 7. Cut the onion into thin rings or slices.
  8. 8. Cut the cress from the bed with a knife.
  9. 9. Split the baguettes lengthwise into two halves.
  10. 10. Put the mayonnaise into a small bowl.
  11. 11. Add the mustard to the mayonnaise.
  12. 12. Stir the sauce well with a spoon.
  13. 13. Season the sauce to taste with black pepper.
  14. 14. Spread the mustard mayonnaise onto the inside surfaces of the baguette halves.
  15. 15. Place a layer of lettuce on the bread.
  16. 16. Add slices of ham and salami.
  17. 17. Distribute the cucumber slices over the meat.
  18. 18. Add the onion slices on top.
  19. 19. Crown the sandwich with the fresh cress.
  20. 20. Close the sandwich and serve it immediately.
