  1. 1. Roughly chop the cashews and hazelnuts. You can use a knife or a food processor.
  2. 2. Place the marzipan, chopped nuts, and rum in a bowl.
  3. 3. Mix the ingredients well and knead them into a uniform mass.
  4. 4. Place two sheets of baking paper on your work surface.
  5. 5. Roll out the marzipan mass between the sheets to a thickness of about 1 centimeter.
  6. 6. Cut equal-sized rectangles of approx. 3 by 2 centimeters from the sheet.
  7. 7. Fill a pot with approx. 500 milliliters of water and bring it to a boil.
  8. 8. Roughly chop the chocolate coating.
  9. 9. Place a bowl with the chocolate coating over the pot, but do not let it touch the water.
  10. 10. Melt the chocolate coating in a bain-marie until it is liquid.
  11. 11. Insert the pralines onto toothpicks.
  12. 12. Dip the pralines into the melted chocolate coating.
  13. 13. Place the coated pralines on a cooling rack.
  14. 14. Decorate each praline with half a walnut.
  15. 15. Let the pralines cool until the chocolate coating is firm.
