  3. 3. Push the wooden sticks into the center of the apples with slight pressure.
  4. 4. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice.
  5. 5. Put 400 grams of sugar, 4 tablespoons of water, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of food coloring into a pot.
  6. 6. Heat the mixture on low to medium heat.
  7. 7. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  8. 8. Let the mixture caramelize until the syrup becomes clear.
  9. 9. Remove the pot from the heat immediately once the syrup is clear.
  10. 10. Dip the apples directly into the hot syrup.
  11. 11. Rotate the apples until they are completely covered with syrup.
  12. 12. Let the excess syrup drip off for a moment.
  13. 13. Place the apples on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  14. 14. Let the love apples cool down completely.
