  1. 1. Drain the cherries in a sieve.
  2. 2. Wash the berries thoroughly under running water.
  3. 3. Remove the green stems from the strawberries.
  4. 4. Cut the strawberries into quarters.
  5. 5. Put half of the sugar into a pot.
  6. 6. Caramelize the sugar on high heat for about 3 minutes.
  7. 7. Deglaze the caramel with 250 ml of red wine.
  8. 8. Add the apple juice to the pot.
  9. 9. Add the cinnamon.
  10. 10. Add half of the vanilla sugar.
  11. 11. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  12. 12. Stir the prepared berries into the liquid.
  13. 13. Cover the pot with a lid.
  14. 14. Simmer the pudding on low heat for about 4 minutes.
  15. 15. Mix the remaining red wine with the cornstarch in a small bowl.
  16. 16. Stir the wine-starch mixture into the boiling red fruit pudding.
  17. 17. Let the pudding simmer for another 3 minutes.
  18. 18. Remove the pot from the heat.
  19. 19. Stir the rum into the pudding.
  20. 20. Let the red fruit pudding cool down.
  21. 21. Put the cream, 200 ml of milk, and the remaining vanilla sugar into a pot.
  22. 22. Bring the milk-cream mixture to a boil.
  23. 23. Put the remaining milk into a separate bowl.
  24. 24. Mix the cold milk with the vanilla pudding powder.
  25. 25. Add the pudding-milk mixture to the boiling cream-milk.
  26. 26. Thicken the vanilla sauce while stirring.
  27. 27. Distribute the red fruit pudding onto bowls.
  28. 28. Add the vanilla sauce.
  29. 29. Serve the dessert.
