  1. 1. Thoroughly wash the rosemary sprigs under running water.
  2. 2. Roughly chop off the rosemary needles or chop the sprigs.
  3. 3. Cut the lemon in half.
  4. 4. Squeeze the juice from the half lemon.
  5. 5. Add the chopped rosemary, brown sugar, water, and lemon juice to a pot.
  6. 6. Place the pot on a medium heat setting.
  7. 7. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  8. 8. Reduce the heat slightly and let the syrup simmer gently for about 30 minutes.
  9. 9. Remove the pot from the heat.
  10. 10. Pour the warm syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove the rosemary pieces and solids.
  11. 11. Fill the strained syrup immediately into previously sterilized jars or bottles.
  12. 12. Seal the containers tightly immediately after filling.
  13. 13. Store the finished syrup in a cool, dark place until you are ready to use it.
