  4. 4. Peel the potatoes if you wish.
  5. 5. Slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
  6. 6. Wash the Brussels sprouts thoroughly as well.
  7. 7. Remove any wilted outer leaves from the Brussels sprouts.
  8. 8. Score the stems (the hard bottom part) of the Brussels sprouts in a cross pattern with a small knife.
  9. 9. Bring the salted water in the pot to a boil.
  10. 10. Add the potato slices to the boiling water.
  11. 11. Parboil the potatoes for about 10 minutes.
  12. 12. Add the Brussels sprouts to the pot after 6 minutes.
  13. 13. Cook the Brussels sprouts for another 4 minutes.
  14. 14. Drain the vegetables in a colander.
  15. 15. Let the vegetables drain for a short moment.
  16. 16. Take a bowl and add the Gouda cheese.
  17. 17. Add the eggs to the bowl.
  18. 18. Pour the milk into the bowl.
  19. 19. Add the cream to the bowl.
  20. 20. Mix everything well with a whisk.
  21. 21. Add 2 to 3 pinches of salt.
  22. 22. Add 2 to 3 pinches of pepper.
  23. 23. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.

  25. 25. Distribute the potatoes evenly in the dish.
