🍽️ Juicy beef steaks with crispy oven potatoes and spicy Mojo Rojo sauce

Ingredients
- Beef rump steaks 600 g
- small potatoes, mainly firm 1 kg
- salt pinch
- paprika, sweet 0.25 tsp
- olive oil 3 tbsp
- peppers, red 2 pcs
- onions, yellow 1 pc
- sugar 0.5 tsp
- oil 1 tbsp
- butter 3 tbsp
- placeholder 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Wash the beef steaks and pat them dry with kitchen paper.
- 3. Let the steaks rest at room temperature to warm up slightly.
- 4. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- 5. Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise.
- 6. Place the potato halves on a baking sheet.
- 7. Add one tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and paprika powder.
- 8. Mix everything well so the potatoes are evenly seasoned.
- 9. Slide the tray into the preheated oven.
- 10. Bake the potatoes until golden brown for about 20 to 25 minutes.
- 11. Turn the potatoes over once after half the baking time.
- 12. Wash the peppers and cut them into quarters.
- 13. Remove the hard stem and seeds from the peppers.
- 14. Dice the peppers into coarse pieces.
- 15. Cut the onion in half and peel it.
- 16. Dice the onion into coarse pieces as well.
- 17. Heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- 18. Add the peppers and onions to the hot oil.
- 19. Add a small spoonful of sugar and a pinch of salt.
- 20. Cover the pot and let the vegetables cook until soft for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- 21. Season the beef steaks generously with salt.
- 22. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a frying pan until very hot.
- 23. Sear the steaks on all sides for 2 to 3 minutes.
- 24. Reduce the heat to low to medium.
- 25. Add two tablespoons of butter to the pan.
- 26. Finish cooking the steaks for another 3 minutes.
- 27. Pour the melted butter from the pan over the steaks repeatedly.
- 28. Wrap the finished steaks in aluminum foil.
- 29. Let the meat rest for 5 minutes.
- 30. Roughly chop the cloves of marinated garlic.
- 31. Add the chopped garlic and one tablespoon of butter to the pepper mixture in the pot.
- 32. Blend everything finely with a hand blender.
- 33. Season the sauce finally with salt, pepper, and paprika powder.
- 34. Take the potatoes out of the oven.
- 35. Plate the steaks on plates with the Spanish oven potatoes.
- 36. Drizzle the dish with the pepper-garlic sauce.
- 37. Serve the food hot and enjoy your meal!
