🍽️ Quick Beef Chop Suey

Ingredients
- beef rump steaks 600 g
- soy sauce 2 tbsp
- chili, ground pinch
- mushrooms, white 250 g
- shallots 2 pcs
- ginger, fresh 15 g
- garlic cloves 2 pcs
- oranges 1 pc
- pepper, yellow 1 pc
- pepper, green 1 pc
- jasmine rice 300 g
- salt pinch
- vegetable broth 150 ml
- cornstarch 1 tsp
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the beef steaks under cold water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut the steaks into thin strips.
- 4. Place the meat strips in a bowl.
- 5. Mix the meat with soy sauce and chili.
- 6. Set the marinated strips aside to let the flavors infuse.
- 7. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth if necessary.
- 8. Slice the mushrooms into thin pieces.
- 9. Peel the shallots, ginger, and garlic.
- 10. Finely chop the shallots, ginger, and garlic.
- 11. Peel the orange and remove all the white pith.
- 12. Carefully separate the orange segments.
- 13. Catch the released orange juice.
- 14. Rinse the bell pepper.
- 15. Remove the seeds from the bell pepper.
- 16. Cut the bell pepper into strips.
- 17. Place the rice in a pot.
- 18. Pour 700 milliliters of salted water over the rice.
- 19. Bring the water and rice to a boil.
- 20. Cover the pot.
- 21. Simmer the rice on low to medium heat.
- 22. Cook the rice for about 12 to 15 minutes.
- 23. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan or wok.
- 24. Set the heat to high.
- 25. Add half of the meat to the hot pan.
- 26. Fry the meat quickly while stirring.
- 27. Cook the meat for about 2 to 3 minutes.
- 28. Lightly salt the meat.
- 29. Remove the fried meat from the pan.
- 30. Repeat the process with the remaining meat.
- 31. Heat the remaining oil in the wok or pan.
- 32. Fry the mushrooms for about 1 minute.
- 33. Add the chopped shallots, ginger, and garlic.
- 34. Fry the vegetables together.
- 35. Add the bell pepper strips.
- 36. Fry the pepper for about 2 minutes while stirring.
- 37. Pour the orange juice into the pan.
- 38. Pour in the broth.
- 39. Let the sauce simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes.
- 40. Return the fried meat to the pan.
- 41. Add the orange segments.
- 42. Heat everything together.
- 43. Season the dish to taste.
- 44. Plate the beef chop suey.
- 45. Serve it together with the rice.
