🥤 Homemade Rhubarb Syrup from Peels

Ingredients
- rhubarb peels 200 g
- lemons 1 pc.
- water 500 ml
- sugar 70 g
- vanilla sugar 1 packet
Instructions
- 1. Place the rhubarb peels and end pieces into a sieve.
- 2. Rinse the peels thoroughly under running water.
- 3. Wash the lemon thoroughly.
- 4. Cut the lemon in half.
- 5. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon.
- 6. Add water, rhubarb peels, sugar, vanilla sugar, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to a pot.
- 7. Heat the mixture on medium heat until it comes to a boil.
- 8. Let the mixture simmer for about 2 minutes.
- 9. Pour the liquid through a sieve into a bowl.
- 10. Fill the hot syrup into clean bottles for storage.
- 11. For serving, mix 1 part syrup with 2 parts water in a glass.
- 12. Garnish the drink with mint and ice cubes as desired.
- 13. Serve the syrup and enjoy.
