🍽️ Balkan Rice Meat

Ingredients
- onions, yellow 2 pcs.
- ham goulash from pork 500 g
- sunflower oil 2 tbsp
- tomato paste 1 tbsp
- salt pinch
- paprika, sweet mild pinch
- oregano, dried pinch
- sugar 1 tsp
- tomatoes, chopped 425 g
- vegetable broth 600 ml
- paprika, red 3 pcs.
- long grain rice 100 g
- crème fraîche 4 tbsp
- pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Halve the onions and remove the outer skin.
- 2. Cut the onions into thin strips.
- 3. Rinse the goulash meat under running water.
- 4. Pat the meat dry with kitchen paper.
- 5. Heat the oil in a pot over high heat.
- 6. Fry the meat in it for about 3 minutes until well browned.
- 7. Add the chopped onions and tomato paste to the pot.
- 8. Cook the mixture for about 2 minutes longer.
- 9. Season with salt, pepper, paprika powder, oregano, and sugar.
- 10. Pour in the tomatoes along with their liquid and the broth.
- 11. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 12. Let the dish simmer covered for about 30 minutes.
- 13. Rinse the peppers under running water.
- 14. Quarter the peppers and remove the stems and seeds.
- 15. Dice the pepper pieces roughly.
- 16. Add the pepper pieces and the rice to the meat.
- 17. Simmer everything for another 25 to 30 minutes.
- 18. Add a little hot water if necessary, as the liquid may evaporate too quickly.
- 19. Finally, adjust the seasoning of the rice meat.
- 20. Serve the dish with a spoonful of crème fraîche.
