🍰 Quark balls

Ingredients
- milk 125 ml
- yeast, fresh 0.5 pcs
- sugar 80 g
- butter 30 g
- wheat flour, Type 405 300 g
- salt pinch
- eggs 1 pcs
- quark 40 % Fett i.Tr. 125 g
- rapeseed oil 1 L
- vanilla sugar 4 tsp
Instructions
- 1. In a pot, gently warm the milk. Crumble the yeast and dissolve it with 2 tablespoons of sugar in the warm milk. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
- 2. In a bowl, combine the yeast milk with butter, flour, 20 g of sugar, salt, an egg, and quark to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rise again for about 1 hour.
- 3. Use a tablespoon to scoop portions of dough and shape them into small balls with floured hands.
- 4. Heat oil in a pot over high heat until bubbles form around a submerged wooden spoon. Fry the quark balls in batches for about 3–4 minutes until golden brown, turning occasionally.
- 5. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Mix sugar and vanilla sugar on a plate and coat the quark balls in the mixture.
