🍽️ Turkey Strips in Yogurt Sauce with Red Lentil Dal

Ingredients
- Cilantro, fresh 20 g
- Yogurt, plain 300 g
- Salt 1 tbsp
- Pepper, black ground 0.5 tsp
- Turkey breast fillet 600 g
- Lentils, red 300 g
- Onions, yellow 1 pc.
- Lemons 1 pc.
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Curry powder 1 tsp
- Chili, ground 0.25 tsp
- Tomatoes, chopped 500 g
- Spinach, leaf 200 g
- Sugar pinch
- Vinegar 1 tsp
Instructions
- 1. Thoroughly wash the coriander leaves under running water.
- 2. Dry the leaves with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Remove the coarse stems from the coriander.
- 4. Finely chop the coriander leaves.
- 5. Place the chopped coriander into a bowl.
- 6. Add the yogurt, salt, and pepper.
- 7. Mix the ingredients well together.
- 8. Rinse the turkey meat under running water.
- 9. Dry the meat with kitchen paper.
- 10. Cut the turkey meat into thin strips.
- 11. Place the turkey strips into a separate bowl.
- 12. Take half of the yogurt mixture.
- 13. Marinate the turkey strips with the half portion of yogurt.
- 14. Set the marinated strips aside.
- 15. Place the lentils into a pot.
- 16. Pour 600 milliliters of water over the lentils.
- 17. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 18. Simmer the lentils for about 7 minutes over medium heat.
- 19. Halve the onion while the lentils are cooking.
- 20. Peel the onion halves.
- 21. Dice the onion finely.
- 22. Rinse the lemon under hot water.
- 23. Grate about 1 teaspoon of lemon zest.
- 24. Drain the cooked lentils into a sieve.
- 25. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the same pot.
- 26. Heat the oil over medium heat.
- 27. Add the diced onion to the hot oil.
- 28. Sweat the onion for about 2 minutes.
- 29. Return the drained lentils to the pot.
- 30. Add curry powder.
- 31. Add chili.
- 32. Add the chopped tomatoes to the pot.
- 33. Pour in 100 milliliters of water.
- 34. Cover the pot.
- 35. Cook everything for approx. 8 minutes over low heat.
- 36. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a medium frying pan.
- 37. Let the oil get hot over medium heat.
- 38. Let the excess marinade drip off the turkey strips.
- 39. Fry the turkey strips in the hot oil.
- 40. Fry the strips for approx. 7 minutes on all sides.
- 41. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
- 42. Wash the spinach thoroughly.
- 43. Spin the spinach dry.
- 44. Add the spinach to the red lentil dal.
- 45. Add the lemon zest to the dal.
- 46. Season with salt and pepper.
- 47. Add a pinch of sugar.
- 48. Add 1 teaspoon of vinegar.
- 49. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning.
- 50. Plate the red lentil dal.
- 51. Place the fried turkey strips on top of the dal.
- 52. Drizzle the dish with the remaining yogurt.
