  1. 1. Place the red lentils in a pot and cover them with 500 ml of water.
  2. 2. Cook the lentils for about 8 minutes until they are tender but still firm.
  3. 3. Pour the lentils into a sieve to drain the water.
  4. 4. Let the lentils cool down completely.
  5. 5. Finely chop the walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, and cashew nuts.
  6. 6. Place the sugar in a pot and melt it over medium heat until it becomes colorless.
  7. 7. Fold in the chopped nuts, the oat flakes, and the cooled lentils into the melted sugar mixture.
  8. 8. Add a pinch of salt and mix everything well.
  9. 9. Line a loaf pan with baking paper.
  10. 10. Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan.
  11. 11. Press the mixture firmly into the pan.
  12. 12. Place the pan in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to chill the mixture.
  13. 13. Carefully remove the cold mass from the pan.
  14. 14. Cut the mass into strips about 2 cm wide.
  15. 15. Wrap each strip in a small piece of baking paper.
  16. 16. Secure the packaging with kitchen twine.
  17. 17. Serve the bars immediately or store them in a cool, dry place until you are ready to eat them.
