🍳 Protein cereal bars with nuts and red lentils

Ingredients
- red lentils 100 g
- water 500 ml
- walnut kernels 50 g
- hazelnut kernels, whole 50 g
- almonds, whole 50 g
- cashew kernels 50 g
- sugar 100 g
- oat flakes, coarse 100 g
- salt pinch
Instructions
- 1. Place the red lentils in a pot and cover them with 500 ml of water.
- 2. Cook the lentils for about 8 minutes until they are tender but still firm.
- 3. Pour the lentils into a sieve to drain the water.
- 4. Let the lentils cool down completely.
- 5. Finely chop the walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, and cashew nuts.
- 6. Place the sugar in a pot and melt it over medium heat until it becomes colorless.
- 7. Fold in the chopped nuts, the oat flakes, and the cooled lentils into the melted sugar mixture.
- 8. Add a pinch of salt and mix everything well.
- 9. Line a loaf pan with baking paper.
- 10. Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan.
- 11. Press the mixture firmly into the pan.
- 12. Place the pan in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to chill the mixture.
- 13. Carefully remove the cold mass from the pan.
- 14. Cut the mass into strips about 2 cm wide.
- 15. Wrap each strip in a small piece of baking paper.
- 16. Secure the packaging with kitchen twine.
- 17. Serve the bars immediately or store them in a cool, dry place until you are ready to eat them.
