  2. 2. Quarter the apples and remove the core.
  3. 3. Cut the flesh into small cubes.
  4. 4. Melt the butter in a pot over high heat.
  5. 5. Fry the apple cubes for about 4 minutes.
  6. 6. Add the sugar and let it caramelize slightly.
  7. 7. Deglaze the mixture with about 50 milliliters of water.
  8. 8. Cook the apples for about 5 minutes until they are soft.
  9. 9. Stir the cranberries into the apple mixture.
  10. 10. Season the compote to taste.
  11. 11. Put the oat flakes and a pinch of salt into a clean pot.
  12. 12. Pour milk over the oat flakes.
  13. 13. Simmer the porridge over low to medium heat.
  14. 14. Cook the porridge for about 4 to 6 minutes.
  15. 15. Wait until the milk has been completely absorbed by the flakes.
  16. 16. Sweeten the porridge with honey to your liking.
  17. 17. Preheat a pan to high temperature.
  18. 18. Roast the almonds for about 2 minutes without fat.
  19. 19. Fill the porridge into bowls.
  20. 20. Add the apple-cranberry compote.
  21. 21. Sprinkle the dish with the roasted almonds.
