  1. 1. Warm the milk in a pot until it is lukewarm.
  2. 2. Mix flour, dry yeast, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. 3. Separate the eggs and set the egg whites aside for another use.
  4. 4. Add the egg yolks and the lukewarm milk to the flour mixture.
  5. 5. Beat everything with a hand mixer using dough hooks until you have a smooth batter.
  6. 6. Cover the bowl and let the batter rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  7. 7. Brush the indentations of your poffertjes pan with oil.
  8. 8. Heat the pan over medium heat.
  9. 9. Fill each indentation with about one teaspoon of batter.
  10. 10. Bake the poffertjes for about 1 to 2 minutes until small bubbles appear on the surface.
  11. 11. Slide a skewer under the poffertjes and flip them over.
  12. 12. Bake them for another 1 minute until they are golden brown.
  13. 13. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
  14. 14. Melt the butter in a small pot over medium heat.
  15. 15. Serve the warm poffertjes with the melted butter and dusted with powdered sugar.
