🍕 Hawaii Pizza with Pineapple and Ham

Ingredients
- onions, yellow 1 pc.
- olive oil 2 tbsp
- tomatoes, chopped 400 g
- vegetable broth 50 ml
- tomato paste 1 tbsp
- salt pinch
- cayenne pepper pinch
- sugar 1 tsp
- pineapple 200 g
- Emmental cheese, block 200 g
- cooked ham 100 g
- pizza dough with tomato sauce 2 pcs.
- basil, fresh 20 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 225 degrees Celsius using top and bottom heat.
- 2. Cut an onion in half and remove the outer skin.
- 3. Finely chop the onion into small pieces.
- 4. Add two tablespoons of oil to a pot and heat it over medium to high heat.
- 5. Add the chopped onion to the hot oil.
- 6. Sauté the onions for about two minutes until they become soft and translucent.
- 7. Add tomatoes, broth, and tomato paste to the pot.
- 8. Season the sauce with salt, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of sugar.
- 9. Let the sauce simmer gently for about five minutes.
- 10. Remove the pot from the heat and let the sauce cool down slightly.
- 11. Peel a pineapple and remove the hard core from the center.
- 12. Cut the pineapple flesh into thin slices.
- 13. Finely grate Emmental cheese using a grater.
- 14. Halve or quarter the ham slices.
- 15. Wash fresh basil leaves under running water.
- 16. Gently dry the basil leaves.
- 17. Pluck the basil leaves off the stems.
- 18. Place the pizza bases on baking sheets lined with baking paper.
- 19. Spread the cooled tomato sauce thinly over the pizza bases.
- 20. Sprinkle the grated Emmental cheese evenly over the sauce.
- 21. Distribute the ham pieces and pineapple slices over the pizzas.
- 22. Slide the pizzas into the preheated oven.
- 23. Bake the pizzas one after the other for about 15 minutes.
- 24. Remove the finished pizzas from the oven.
- 25. Garnish the hot pizzas with the fresh basil leaves.
- 26. Serve the pizza immediately and enjoy.
