  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  2. 2. Wash the chicken drumsticks and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. 3. Poke deep holes into the meat several times with a fork or knife so the marinade penetrates better.
  4. 4. Cut a lime in half and squeeze out the juice.
  5. 5. Peel the garlic cloves and chop them roughly.
  6. 6. Put one tablespoon of lime juice, the chopped garlic, two tablespoons of oil, and one tablespoon of Piri-Piri sauce into a tall container.
  7. 7. Blend the ingredients into a smooth marinade.
  8. 8. Season the marinade with salt and pepper.
  9. 9. Add a little more oil if the mixture seems too dry.
  10. 10. Place the chicken drumsticks into a freezer bag.
  11. 11. Pour the marinade over the meat and close the bag.
  12. 12. Massage the marinade well into the meat.
  13. 13. Let the drumsticks marinate in the bag for at least 30 minutes.
  14. 14. Heat two tablespoons of oil in an oven-safe pan over high heat.
  15. 15. Fry the chicken drumsticks on all sides for two to three minutes until golden brown.
  16. 16. Remove the drumsticks from the pan and store the remaining marinade separately.
  17. 17. Place the browned drumsticks into the preheated oven.
  18. 18. Bake the chicken for 20 to 25 minutes until crispy.
  19. 19. Remove the pan from the oven after about half of the baking time.
  20. 20. Carefully spread the stored marinade over the meat.
  21. 21. Put the chicken back in the oven for the remaining time.
  22. 22. Wash the second lime and cut it into eight wedges.
  23. 23. Take the finished chicken out of the oven.
  24. 24. Serve the chicken with the lime wedges.
  25. 25. Add a little more Piri-Piri sauce to taste.
