🍽️ Spicy Tapas with Oven-Roasted Peppers

Ingredients
- pepper, red 1 pc.
- pepper, yellow 1 pc.
- thyme, fresh 10 g
- minced meat, mixed 600 g
- eggs 1 pc.
- breadcrumbs 2 tbsp
- salt pinch
- rose pepper 1 tsp
- cayenne pepper 0.25 tsp
- cumin 0.25 tsp
- baguette 1 pc.
- olive oil 5 tbsp
- sugar 0.25 tsp
- basil, fresh 10 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius using top and bottom heat.
- 2. Wash the bell peppers thoroughly.
- 3. Cut the bell peppers in half lengthwise.
- 4. Remove the stems and seeds from the pepper halves.
- 5. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 6. Place the pepper halves skin-side up on the tray.
- 7. Place the tray on the top rack of the oven.
- 8. Roast the peppers for about 15 minutes.
- 9. Remove the peppers as soon as the skin starts to turn black.
- 10. Wash the thyme under running water.
- 11. Dry the herbs with a kitchen towel.
- 12. Pluck the small thyme leaves off the woody stems.
- 13. Finely chop the thyme leaves.
- 14. Take a large bowl.
- 15. Add the minced meat to the bowl.
- 16. Add one egg.
- 17. Add breadcrumbs.
- 18. Add the chopped thyme leaves.
- 19. Season the mixture with salt.
- 20. Add other spices to your taste.
- 21. Mix all ingredients well together.
- 22. Shape the meat mixture into about 10 to 15 small balls.
- 23. Slice the baguette into thick slices.
- 24. Take a frying pan.
- 25. Add 2 tablespoons of oil to the pan.
- 26. Heat the oil over medium to high heat.
- 27. Place the baguette slices in the hot pan.
- 28. Fry the slices on the first side for about 1 minute.
- 29. Turn the slices and fry them on the second side for about 1 minute as well.
- 30. Remove the toasted slices from the pan.
- 31. Add another 2 tablespoons of oil to the same pan.
- 32. Heat the oil again.
- 33. Place the meatballs in the hot pan.
- 34. Fry the meatballs for about 4 to 5 minutes all over.
- 35. Take the peppers out of the oven.
- 36. Let the peppers cool down for a short moment.
- 37. Cut the peppers into thin strips.
- 38. Take a separate bowl.
- 39. Put the pepper strips into the bowl.
- 40. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- 41. Season the peppers with salt.
- 42. Add a little sugar.
- 43. Mix the peppers with the oil and spices.
- 44. Wash the basil.
- 45. Dry the basil leaves.
- 46. Pluck the leaves off the stems.
- 47. Take a baguette slice.
- 48. Place one teaspoon of the seasoned peppers on the slice.
- 49. Place a meatball on top of the peppers.
- 50. Garnish the ball with fresh basil leaves.
- 51. Insert a wooden skewer through the ingredients if necessary to hold them together.
- 52. Serve the finished tapas.
