  1. 1. Take the walnuts out of the package and chop them into small pieces.
  2. 2. Rinse the plums under running water.
  3. 3. Cut the plums in half and remove the pits.
  4. 4. Turn on the oven and set it to 80 degrees Celsius.
  5. 5. Use the top and bottom heat setting for baking.
  6. 6. Separate the eggs so that you have the egg whites and yolks in separate bowls.
  7. 7. Place the egg whites into a clean bowl.
  8. 8. Beat the egg whites with a hand mixer and whisk attachment until they are firm and stiff.
  9. 9. Take a second bowl and place the egg yolks inside.
  10. 10. Add sugar and a pinch of salt to the egg yolks.
  11. 11. Mix the yolk mixture with the mixer until it becomes light and frothy.
  12. 12. Add flour and milk to the yolk mixture in alternating additions.
  13. 13. Continue stirring until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  14. 14. Take the beaten egg whites and gently fold them into the batter.
  15. 15. Take a frying pan and add one tablespoon of butter.
  16. 16. Turn the stove burner to medium heat and let the butter melt.
  17. 17. Take half of the halved plums and place them in the hot pan.
  18. 18. Sauté the plums for about one to two minutes.
  19. 19. Sprinkle half of the chopped walnuts over the plums.
  20. 20. Pour half of the finished batter evenly over the plums and walnuts.
  21. 21. Bake the schmarrn for about three minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  22. 22. Carefully flip the schmarrn so that the other side is facing down.
  23. 23. Bake the other side for another three minutes.
  24. 24. Take two forks and roughly tear the schmarrn into pieces.
  25. 25. Place the finished schmarrn pieces in the preheated oven to keep them warm.
  26. 26. Repeat steps 15 to 25 with the remaining butter, plums, walnuts, and batter.
  27. 27. Dust the finished plum schmarrn with powdered sugar.
  28. 28. Serve the schmarrn immediately and enjoy it.
