🍽️ Creamy Penne alla Vodka

Ingredients
- garlic cloves 1 pc.
- onions, yellow 1 pc.
- basil, fresh 10 g
- olive oil 3 tbsp
- tomato paste 2 tbsp
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
- sugar 1 tsp
- chili, ground pinch
- vodka 50 ml
- tomatoes, chopped 800 g
- heavy cream 200 ml
- penne rigate 500 g
- parmesan, grated 4 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Peel the garlic clove and the onion.
- 2. Finely chop the garlic and onion.
- 3. Wash the fresh basil.
- 4. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
- 5. Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a pot over high heat.
- 6. Sauté the chopped garlic and onion for about 2 minutes.
- 7. Add the tomato paste to the pot.
- 8. Roast the tomato paste for another 2 minutes.
- 9. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, sugar, chili, and the basil stems.
- 10. Deglaze the pan with vodka.
- 11. Add the chopped tomatoes and the cream.
- 12. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
- 13. Bring 5 liters of salted water to a boil in a large pot.
- 14. Cook the penne in the boiling salted water for about 9 minutes until al dente.
- 15. Drain the pasta in a colander.
- 16. Finally, adjust the seasoning of the vodka tomato sauce.
- 17. Remove the basil stems from the sauce.
- 18. Distribute the sauce and the penne onto plates.
- 19. Garnish the dish with fresh basil and grated Parmesan.
- 20. Serve the penne alla vodka hot.
