🍽️ Crispy Kohlrabi Slices from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- Kohlrabi 2 pcs.
- Salt Pinch
- Wheat flour, Type 405 4 tbsp
- Breadcrumbs 80 g
- Eggs 1 pcs
- Milk 2 tbsp
- Olive oil 3 tbsp
- Spring onions 1 bunch
- Tomatoes, chopped 400 g
- Pepper, black ground Pinch
- Agave syrup 1 tsp
Instructions
- 1. Wash the kohlrabi thoroughly and peel it.
- 2. Cut the kohlrabi in half.
- 3. Set aside the young kohlrabi greens.
- 4. Cut each kohlrabi half into two wide slices.
- 5. Lightly salt the kohlrabi slices.
- 6. Fill two deep plates separately with flour and breadcrumbs.
- 7. Whisk the egg and milk in a third deep plate.
- 8. Coat the kohlrabi slices one by one in the flour first.
- 9. Then dip the floured slices into the egg-milk mixture.
- 10. Finally, coat the slices in the breadcrumbs.
- 11. Press the breadcrumbs on lightly so they stick.
- 12. Arrange the breaded kohlrabi slices in the fryer basket.
- 13. Preheat the air fryer to 160 degrees Celsius.
- 14. Fry the kohlrabi at 160 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
- 15. Turn the kohlrabi after the first half of the cooking time.
- 16. Fry the kohlrabi for another 10 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius.
- 17. Drizzle the kohlrabi with one tablespoon of oil.
- 18. Finally, fry the kohlrabi for 5 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius.
- 19. Wash the spring onions and remove the root ends.
- 20. Slice the spring onions into thin rings.
- 21. Simmer the tomato pieces in a small pot for 2 minutes on medium heat.
- 22. Add the spring onion rings and two tablespoons of oil to the tomatoes.
- 23. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and agave syrup.
- 24. Keep the sauce warm, covered.
- 25. Serve the kohlrabi with the sauce.
- 26. Garnish the dish with the reserved kohlrabi leaves.
- 27. Serve the kohlrabi with gnocchi drizzled with olive oil.
