  1. 1. Rinse the lemon thoroughly.
  2. 2. Finely grate 1 teaspoon of the zest.
  3. 3. Squeeze out the juice of the lemon.
  4. 4. Mix the butter, sugar, salt, and eggs well together in a bowl.
  5. 5. Add the lemon juice and zest and stir everything in.
  6. 6. Mix the flour and baking powder.
  7. 7. Knead the flour mixture into the dough.
  8. 8. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
  9. 9. Preheat the oven to 175 °C with top and bottom heat.
  10. 10. Roll out the dough in portions on a floured surface to a thickness of approx. 5 mm.
  11. 11. Cut out Easter figures from the dough using cookie cutters.
  12. 12. Poke holes for hanging in the cookies or insert wooden skewers from the bottom.
  13. 13. Place the cookies on trays lined with baking paper.
  14. 14. Bake the cookies for about 12–15 minutes until the edges are golden yellow.
  15. 15. Let the cookies cool down.
  16. 16. Sift the powdered sugar.
  17. 17. Stir the powdered sugar smooth with a little water.
  18. 18. Fill the glaze into a piping bag.
  19. 19. Cut off a small corner of the piping bag.
  20. 20. Decorate the cooled cookies with the glaze.
