🥤 Warm Orange Wine Punch

Ingredients
- red wine, dry 400 ml
- sour cherry nectar 400 ml
- oranges 1 pc.
- cloves 0.5 tsp
- cinnamon 0.25 tsp
- star anise 0.25 tsp
- brown sugar 40 g
Instructions
- 1. Pour the wine and cherry juice into a pot.
- 2. Heat the liquid gently, but do not let it boil.
- 3. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 4. Rinse the orange thoroughly under hot water.
- 5. Grate about one teaspoon of the orange peel finely.
- 6. Cut the orange in half.
- 7. Squeeze the juice from one half.
- 8. Cut the other half into four slices.
- 9. Add the freshly squeezed orange juice to the warm wine mixture.
- 10. Add the spices and sugar.
- 11. Cover the pot.
- 12. Let the mixture steep for about 15 minutes.
- 13. Stir occasionally.
- 14. Strain the punch through a fine sieve.
- 15. Reheat the strained punch gently.
- 16. Make sure it does not boil.
- 17. Pour the punch into glasses.
- 18. Add one orange slice to each glass.
- 19. Garnish with cocktail cherries on a toothpick if desired.
