  1. 1. Fill a large pot with about 5 liters of water and add salt. Bring the water to a boil.
  2. 2. Thoroughly wash the Hokkaido pumpkin under running water.
  3. 3. Peel the hard skin off the pumpkin.
  4. 4. Cut the pumpkin in half.
  5. 5. Scrape out the seeds and the flesh in the center with a spoon.
  6. 6. Cut the pumpkin flesh into cubes of about 1 cm.
  7. 7. Halve the onions and peel them.
  8. 8. Cut the onions into thin strips.
  9. 9. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pot over medium heat.
  10. 10. Add the onion strips to the hot oil.
  11. 11. Sauté the onions for about 2 to 3 minutes until they are soft.
  12. 12. Add the pumpkin cubes to the pot with the onions.
  13. 13. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  14. 14. Fry the pumpkin for approx. 3 minutes.
  15. 15. Wash the orange thoroughly.
  16. 16. Cut the orange in half.
  17. 17. Squeeze the juice out of the orange.
  18. 18. Deglaze the pumpkin with the freshly squeezed orange juice.
  19. 19. Add the broth to the pot.
  20. 20. Add the cream to the pot.
  21. 21. Let the sauce simmer covered on medium heat for about 8 to 10 minutes.
  22. 22. Add the spaghetti to the boiling salted water.
  23. 23. Cook the spaghetti for about 10 minutes until al dente (firm to the bite).
  24. 24. Drain the pasta in a sieve.
  25. 25. Let the pasta drain well.
  26. 26. Wash the basil.
  27. 27. Shake the basil dry.
  28. 28. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  29. 29. Finely chop the basil leaves.
  30. 30. Take a bowl and put the goat cream cheese in it.
  31. 31. Mix the goat cream cheese with two-thirds of the finely chopped basil leaves.
  32. 32. Season the cream cheese mixture with salt and pepper.
  33. 33. Take a large bowl or the pasta pot.
  34. 34. Thoroughly mix the drained pasta with the pumpkin and the cream cheese mixture.
  35. 35. Serve the pasta on deep plates.
  36. 36. Sprinkle the pasta with the remaining fresh basil.
  37. 37. Add a little extra pepper on top.
