🍽️ Crispy Mozzarella Sticks with Garlic Tomato Dip

Ingredients
- Mozzarella 3 pcs
- Breadcrumbs 200 g
- Herbs of Provence, dried 2 tbsp
- Salt pinch
- Pepper, black ground pinch
- Eggs 2 pcs
- Wheat flour, Type 405 4 tbsp
- Garlic cloves 1 pc
- Frying oil 1 L
- Tomatoes, pureed 200 g
- Sugar pinch
Instructions
- 1. Pat the mozzarella dry with a kitchen towel.
- 2. Cut the cheese into sticks about 1 centimeter thick.
- 3. Mix breadcrumbs with Provençal herbs, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- 4. Whisk the eggs in a second bowl.
- 5. Place some flour in a third bowl.
- 6. Roll the mozzarella sticks in the flour first.
- 7. Then dip them into the beaten eggs.
- 8. Finally, roll them in the breadcrumb mixture.
- 9. Press the coating slightly so it sticks.
- 10. Dip the sticks again briefly in egg and then in breadcrumbs.
- 11. Place the finished sticks in the freezer until ready to cook.
- 12. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
- 13. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pot over high heat.
- 14. Fry the garlic in it for about 1 minute.
- 15. Deglaze the pot with pureed tomatoes.
- 16. Season the sauce with Provençal herbs, salt, pepper, and sugar.
- 17. Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 5 minutes.
- 18. Heat oil in a pot for frying.
- 19. Fry the mozzarella sticks in the hot oil for about 2 minutes until golden brown.
- 20. Remove the sticks from the oil with a slotted spoon.
- 21. Let them drain on kitchen paper.
- 22. Serve the hot mozzarella sticks together with the tomato sauce.
