🍽️ Chicken Breast with Mozzarella and Ham

Ingredients
- chicken breast fillets 600 g
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
- basil, fresh 20 g
- mozzarella 1 pc
- parma ham 12 slices
- oil 2 tbsp
- vegetable broth 150 ml
- whipping cream 100 g
- tomatoes, chopped 400 g
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicken breast fillets under running water.
- 2. Pat the meat dry thoroughly with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Slice each fillet into two thin pieces.
- 4. Season the chicken slices with salt and pepper.
- 5. Set the meat aside to reach room temperature.
- 6. Wash the basil leaves under cold water.
- 7. Dry the basil carefully.
- 8. Remove the leaves from the stems.
- 9. Drain the mozzarella in a colander.
- 10. Slice the mozzarella into 12 thin pieces.
- 11. Place one slice of mozzarella on each chicken slice.
- 12. Add a few basil leaves on top of the cheese.
- 13. Wrap a slice of ham around the chicken.
- 14. Make sure the cheese is completely covered by the ham.
- 15. Secure the roll with a toothpick or wooden skewer.
- 16. Heat the oil in a pan over high heat.
- 17. Place the chicken pieces in the pan with the cheese side down.
- 18. Sear the chicken for about 2 minutes.
- 19. Flip the chicken pieces.
- 20. Cook them for another 1 to 2 minutes.
- 21. Deglaze the meat with broth.
- 22. Add cream to the pan.
- 23. Cover the pan with a lid.
- 24. Let the chicken cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
- 25. Remove the chicken pieces from the pan.
- 26. Keep the meat warm.
- 27. Add the chopped tomatoes to the sauce.
- 28. Bring the sauce to a boil.
- 29. Simmer the sauce covered for about 5 minutes.
- 30. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning.
- 31. Blend the sauce if you prefer a smooth consistency.
- 32. Serve the chicken together with the sauce.
