  1. 1. Wash the mint thoroughly and shake it dry.
  2. 2. Remove the leaves from the stems and cut them into thin strips.
  3. 3. Slice the lemon into thin rounds.
  4. 4. Heat water in a pot over medium heat until it boils.
  5. 5. Add the sugar to the boiling water.
  6. 6. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  7. 7. Place the cut mint leaves and lemon slices into a bowl.
  8. 8. Pour the hot sugar syrup over the mint and lemon.
  9. 9. Allow the mixture to cool down.
  10. 10. Cover the bowl and refrigerate it overnight.
  11. 11. Strain the syrup through a sieve to remove the solid ingredients.
  12. 12. Fill a glass with crushed ice.
  13. 13. Add four teaspoons of whiskey to the glass.
  14. 14. Add two teaspoons of the prepared mint syrup.
  15. 15. Stir the drink well with a spoon.
  16. 16. Garnish the cocktail with fresh mint and serve.
