  1. 1. Put water, sugar, and a mint sprig into a pot.
  2. 2. Let the syrup boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. 3. Remove the pot from the heat.
  4. 4. Remove the seeds from the melon and hollow it out.
  5. 5. Cut the melon flesh into small pieces.
  6. 6. Place the melon pieces into a shallow baking dish.
  7. 7. Pour the warm syrup over the melon pieces.
  8. 8. Remove the mint leaves from the syrup.
  9. 9. Squeeze in the juice of a lime.
  10. 10. Stir the mixture well together.
  11. 11. Place the dish in the freezer for 2 to 3 hours.
  12. 12. Wait until the mixture is completely frozen.
  13. 13. Take the frozen mixture out of the freezer.
  14. 14. Puree the mixture with a blender or chop it finely.
  15. 15. Serve the slush ice in pre-frozen dessert glasses.
  16. 16. Alternatively, you can serve it in the hollowed-out melon.
