  1. 1. Cut the watermelon and remove the green rind.
  2. 2. Remove the seeds from the fruit flesh.
  3. 3. Cut the deseeded flesh into large chunks.
  4. 4. Rinse the mint under running water.
  5. 5. Shake the mint dry so no water remains on it.
  6. 6. Pluck the individual mint leaves from the stems.
  7. 7. Cut the lime in half.
  8. 8. Squeeze the juice out of the lime slices.
  9. 9. Place the watermelon chunks, mint leaves, lime juice, and cane sugar into a tall container.
  10. 10. Blend the ingredients with a hand blender until you have a smooth mixture.
  11. 11. Fill four glasses with two tablespoons of crushed ice each.
  12. 12. Pour the watermelon-mint mixture over the ice in the glasses.
  13. 13. Garnish the shakes with fresh mint sprigs and thin lime slices according to taste.
  14. 14. Serve the shakes immediately and enjoy.
