🍽️ Juicy Meatballs with Melted Cheese

Ingredients
- bread rolls 1 pc.
- onions, yellow 2 pcs.
- garlic cloves 1 pc.
- chili pepper mix 1 pc.
- rosemary, fresh 10 g
- minced meat, mixed 600 g
- eggs 1 pc.
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
- breadcrumbs 1 tbsp
- oil 3 tbsp
- tomatoes, chopped 800 g
- mozzarella 1 pc.
- basil, fresh 10 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Soak the dry bread roll in warm water.
- 3. Halve and peel the onions.
- 4. Dice the onions finely.
- 5. Peel the garlic.
- 6. Finely chop the garlic.
- 7. Wash the chili peppers.
- 8. Halve the chili peppers.
- 9. Remove the seeds from the chili peppers.
- 10. Dice the chili peppers finely.
- 11. Wash the rosemary.
- 12. Shake the rosemary dry.
- 13. Strip the rosemary needles from the stems.
- 14. Finely chop the rosemary.
- 15. Squeeze the soaked bread roll well.
- 16. Pour off the water from the bread roll.
- 17. Place the minced meat in a bowl.
- 18. Add half of the onion dice to the bowl.
- 19. Add the chopped rosemary to the bowl.
- 20. Add the egg to the bowl.
- 21. Add the squeezed bread roll to the bowl.
- 22. Season the mixture with salt.
- 23. Season the mixture with pepper.
- 24. Mix all ingredients in the bowl.
- 25. Check if the meat mixture is too soft.
- 26. If necessary, add some breadcrumbs.
- 27. Form 12 balls from the meat mixture.
- 28. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 29. Fry the meatballs for approx. 5 minutes on all sides.
- 30. Place the fried meatballs in a baking dish.
- 31. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in the same pan over medium heat.
- 32. Fry the remaining onions for approx. 3 minutes.
- 33. Add the garlic to the pan.
- 34. Add the chili peppers to the pan.
- 35. Fry the vegetables for approx. 3 minutes.
- 36. Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan.
- 37. Bring the tomato sauce to a boil.
- 38. Season the sauce with salt.
- 39. Season the sauce with pepper.
- 40. Pour the tomato sauce over the meatballs.
- 41. Drain the mozzarella.
- 42. Slice the mozzarella.
- 43. Place a slice of mozzarella on each meatball.
- 44. Bake the meatballs in the oven for approx. 20 minutes.
- 45. Wash the basil.
- 46. Shake the basil dry.
- 47. Pluck the basil leaves.
- 48. Cut the basil leaves into strips.
- 49. Take the meatballs out of the oven.
- 50. Garnish the meatballs with the basil.
- 51. Serve the meatballs in tomato sauce.
