🍰 Marzipan Cake with Apple Rings

Ingredients
- marzipan paste 125 g
- butter 125 g
- sugar 125 g
- salt pinch
- eggs 2 pcs.
- wheat flour, Type 405 250 g
- baking powder 2 tsp
- milk 100 ml
- apples, green 3 pcs.
- powdered sugar 1 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 2. Grate the marzipan coarsely.
- 3. Mix the marzipan in a bowl with butter, sugar, and salt.
- 4. Stir the mixture until it is creamy.
- 5. Stir the eggs into the mixture one by one.
- 6. Combine flour and baking powder.
- 7. Fold the flour mixture in with the milk briefly.
- 8. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan (25 cm long).
- 9. Smooth the surface of the batter.
- 10. Peel the apples.
- 11. Wash the apples.
- 12. Remove the core using a corer.
- 13. Slice the apples crosswise into rings about 1 cm thick.
- 14. Press the apple rings tightly into the cake batter.
- 15. Bake the cake for about 60 minutes in the oven.
- 16. Loosely cover the cake with aluminum foil towards the end of baking if the surface gets too dark.
- 17. Let the cake cool on a wire rack.
- 18. Turn the cake out of the pan.
- 19. Dust the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
