  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
  2. 2. Grate the marzipan coarsely.
  3. 3. Mix the marzipan in a bowl with butter, sugar, and salt.
  4. 4. Stir the mixture until it is creamy.
  5. 5. Stir the eggs into the mixture one by one.
  6. 6. Combine flour and baking powder.
  7. 7. Fold the flour mixture in with the milk briefly.
  8. 8. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan (25 cm long).
  9. 9. Smooth the surface of the batter.
  10. 10. Peel the apples.
  11. 11. Wash the apples.
  12. 12. Remove the core using a corer.
  13. 13. Slice the apples crosswise into rings about 1 cm thick.
  14. 14. Press the apple rings tightly into the cake batter.
  15. 15. Bake the cake for about 60 minutes in the oven.
  16. 16. Loosely cover the cake with aluminum foil towards the end of baking if the surface gets too dark.
  17. 17. Let the cake cool on a wire rack.
  18. 18. Turn the cake out of the pan.
  19. 19. Dust the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
