  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Set the heating mode to top and bottom heat.
  2. 2. Take a sharp knife and cut a small cross into the shell of each individual chestnut.
  3. 3. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  4. 4. Spread the chestnuts evenly on the prepared tray.
  5. 5. Fill a heatproof bowl with water.
  6. 6. Place the water bowl in the center of the baking tray next to the chestnuts.
  7. 7. Slide the tray into the preheated oven.
  8. 8. Bake the chestnuts for about 25 to 30 minutes.
  9. 9. Take the tray out of the oven.
  10. 10. Open the oven door slightly and let the chestnuts cool down in there for a short while.
