🍽️ Marinated Tofu with Basil

Ingredients
- tofu, plain 600 g
- oranges 1 pc.
- soy sauce 3 tbsp
- tomato paste 4 tbsp
- sugar beet syrup 2 tbsp
- rose paprika 1 tsp
- cayenne pepper pinch
- basil, fresh 30 g
- oil 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Cut the tofu crosswise into slices about 2 cm thick. Place these between two layers of kitchen paper and weigh them down with a board and a pot so that the tofu is lightly pressed for about 10 minutes.
- 2. Cut the orange in half and squeeze out the juice. In a bowl, mix 3 tbsp of orange juice with soy sauce, tomato paste, and sugar beet syrup. Season with paprika powder and cayenne pepper. Place the pressed tofu slices in the marinade and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- 3. Wash the basil thoroughly, shake it dry, pluck the leaves from the stems, and chop finely. Mix in a bowl with olive oil.
- 4. Preheat the grill. Drain the marinated tofu slices and grill them on the hot grill for about 4 minutes per side. Brush with some marinade while doing so.
