Ingredients
- Sushi rice 250 g
- Salt 1 tsp
- Sugar 1 tbsp
- Rice vinegar 4 tbsp
- Cucumbers 1 pc
- Avocado 1 pc
- Nori sheets 12 g
- Soy sauce 1 tbsp
- Sushi ginger 10 g
- Wasabi paste 10 g
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the sushi rice thoroughly in a sieve under running water until the water runs clear. Then bring the rice with 650 ml water in a pot to a boil and let it swell covered for about 10 minutes over low heat.
- 2. In the meantime, mix salt, sugar and vinegar in another pot and heat over low heat until everything is dissolved. Then let it cool down.
- 3. Wash the cucumber, quarter it lengthwise, remove the seeds and cut into thin strips. Halve the avocado, remove the pit and also cut into thin strips.
- 4. Line a wooden board or a sushi mat with cling film. Carefully mix the cooled vinegar into the rice with a wooden spoon. Place a nori sheet on the mat, spread the sushi rice with moist hands about 0.5 cm thick on it and leave about 1 cm free at the top edge.
- 5. Place the cucumber and avocado strips in the middle of the sushi rice and roll up into a firm roll with light pressure. Proceed similarly with the remaining ingredients.
- 6. Serve the vegetarian maki with soy sauce, sushi ginger and wasabi. Enjoy your meal!
