  1. 1. Add flour, 100 g powdered sugar, ground hazelnuts, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt to a large bowl.
  2. 2. Add the cold, cubed butter and the egg to the bowl.
  3. 3. Knead the ingredients with your hands until a firm, homogeneous dough forms.
  4. 4. Wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap.
  5. 5. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 2 hours to chill thoroughly.
  6. 6. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  7. 7. Lightly dust the work surface with flour.
  8. 8. Roll out the dough thinly using a rolling pin.
  9. 9. Cut out cookie shapes from the dough as desired.
  10. 10. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  11. 11. Cut the remaining dough into thin strips using a pastry wheel.
  12. 12. Spread each cookie thinly with jam.
  13. 13. Decorate the cookies with the dough strips.
  14. 14. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  15. 15. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool completely.
  16. 16. Dust the cooled cookies with powdered sugar before serving.
