🍽️ Creamy Lentil Dal with Rice

Ingredients
- onions, yellow 1 pc.
- garlic cloves 1 pc.
- ginger, fresh 20 g
- lentils, red 300 g
- oil 2 tbsp
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
- curry powder pinch
- cinnamon pinch
- cumin pinch
- raisins 50 g
- coconut milk 400 ml
- vegetable broth 500 ml
- jasmine rice 300 g
- cilantro, fresh 20 g
- organic limes 1 pc.
Instructions
- 1. Halve the onion and remove the skin.
- 2. Dice the onion into fine cubes.
- 3. Peel the garlic and the ginger.
- 4. Finely chop the garlic and the ginger.
- 5. Rinse the lentils in a sieve under cold water.
- 6. Let the lentils drain in the sieve.
- 7. Heat the oil in a pot over medium heat.
- 8. Sauté the onions together with the garlic and ginger for about 2 minutes.
- 9. Season the mixture generously with salt.
- 10. Add pepper.
- 11. Add curry powder.
- 12. Sprinkle in cinnamon.
- 13. Add cumin.
- 14. Add the lentils to the pot.
- 15. Add the raisins.
- 16. Deglaze the mixture with coconut milk.
- 17. Add the broth.
- 18. Cover the pot.
- 19. Let the dal simmer for about 20 minutes on low heat.
- 20. Put the rice into another pot.
- 21. Pour about 700 ml of salted water over the rice.
- 22. Bring the water to a boil.
- 23. Cover the pot with the rice.
- 24. Let the rice cook for about 10 minutes.
- 25. Rinse the coriander.
- 26. Shake the coriander dry.
- 27. Remove the thick stems from the coriander.
- 28. Wash the lime.
- 29. Cut the lime into quarters.
- 30. Taste the lentil dal.
- 31. Serve the dal on plates.
- 32. Place the rice next to the dal.
- 33. Garnish the dish with fresh coriander.
- 34. Add lime wedges.
- 35. Serve the meal.
