🍽️ Salmon and Prawn Pie

Ingredients
- salmon fillet, frozen 250 g
- shrimp raw, frozen 350 g
- potatoes, mainly firm 500 g
- salt pinch
- onions, yellow 1 pc.
- leek 1 pc.
- oil 2 tbsp
- dill, fresh 20 g
- organic lemon 1 pc.
- whipping cream 400 ml
- pepper, black ground pinch
- nutmeg, ground pinch
- butter 1 tbsp
- puff pastry 1 pc.
- eggs 1 pc.
Instructions
- 1. Thaw the salmon and prawns overnight in the refrigerator.
- 2. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 3. Peel the potatoes and wash them.
- 4. Cut the potatoes into small cubes.
- 5. Place the potato cubes in a pot and cover them with salted water.
- 6. Cook the potatoes for about 15 minutes.
- 7. Drain the potatoes in a colander.
- 8. Collect the cooking water in a container.
- 9. Halve the onions and peel them.
- 10. Finely dice the onions.
- 11. Halve the leeks lengthwise.
- 12. Remove the root end from the leeks.
- 13. Slice the leeks.
- 14. Wash the leek slices in a colander.
- 15. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan on high heat.
- 16. Fry the onions and leeks for about 5 minutes.
- 17. Wash the salmon.
- 18. Pat the salmon dry.
- 19. Roughly cube the salmon.
- 20. Wash the prawns.
- 21. Pat the prawns dry.
- 22. Peel the prawns.
- 23. Wash the dill.
- 24. Shake the dill dry.
- 25. Remove the thick stems from the dill.
- 26. Chop the dill.
- 27. Wash the lemon with hot water.
- 28. Finely grate about 1 teaspoon of lemon zest.
- 29. Halve the lemon.
- 30. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
- 31. Place the potatoes, onions, leeks, salmon, prawns, dill, and lemon zest in a bowl.
- 32. Add double cream and 100 milliliters of the collected potato cooking water.
- 33. Mix all ingredients well.
- 34. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- 35. Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
- 36. Grease a tart pan with butter.
- 37. Pour the fish and leek mixture into the pan.
- 38. Place puff pastry over the baking dish.
- 39. Press the pastry lightly at the edge.
- 40. Trim the excess pastry.
- 41. Cut out stars from the remaining pastry as desired.
- 42. Arrange the pastry stars on the puff pastry.
- 43. Whisk an egg in a small bowl.
- 44. Brush the puff pastry lid with the egg.
- 45. Bake the salmon and prawn pie for about 25 minutes until golden brown in the oven.
