  1. 1. Fill a large pot with about 3 liters of water and add plenty of salt. Place the pot on the stove and bring the water to a boil.
  2. 2. Peel the garlic cloves and chop them roughly.
  3. 3. Grate the Parmesan roughly.
  4. 4. Wash the basil and dry the leaves thoroughly.
  5. 5. Remove the thick stems from the basil.
  6. 6. Wash the arugula and spin it dry.
  7. 7. Thoroughly rinse the tomatoes and the cucumber.
  8. 8. Cut the cucumber in half crosswise.
  9. 9. Cut the cucumber halves into small cubes.
  10. 10. Halve the tomatoes.
  11. 11. Cut the cooked ham into small pieces.
  12. 12. Add the Kritharaki pasta to the boiling salted water.
  13. 13. Cook the pasta for about 10 minutes.
  14. 14. Take a tall container.
  15. 15. Add the chopped garlic to the container.
  16. 16. Add the grated Parmesan to the container.
  17. 17. Add the basil to the container.
  18. 18. Add a handful of arugula to the container.
  19. 19. Add sunflower seeds to the container.
  20. 20. Add olive oil to the container.
  21. 21. Blend the ingredients with a hand blender until creamy.
  22. 22. Season the pesto with salt and pepper.
  23. 23. Drain the cooked Kritharaki pasta.
  24. 24. Rinse the pasta in a colander with cold water.
  25. 25. Take a large bowl.
  26. 26. Add the cooled Kritharaki pasta to the bowl.
  27. 27. Add the cucumber cubes to the bowl.
  28. 28. Add the tomatoes to the bowl.
  29. 29. Add the cooked ham pieces to the bowl.
  30. 30. Add the remaining arugula to the bowl.
  31. 31. Mix all ingredients in the bowl.
  32. 32. Season the salad with vinegar.
  33. 33. Season the salad with salt.
  34. 34. Season the salad with pepper.
  35. 35. Add a pinch of sugar to the salad.
  36. 36. Plate the salad.
  37. 37. Distribute the pesto evenly over the salad.
  38. 38. Serve the salad with cooked ham and homemade pesto.
