Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1. Cut the white cabbage in half, remove the core, and slice it into strips about 0.5 cm thick. Wash the chives, dry them, and cut into fine rings. Halve the onion, peel it, and slice it into very thin half-rings.
  2. 2. In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of oil over low heat. Add the onions, sprinkle with sugar and salt, and cover to simmer for about 10 minutes. Then, increase the heat to medium and cook uncovered for about 5–10 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
  3. 3. Heat a pan over medium heat and toast the sunflower seeds without any fat for about 2 minutes until they start to smell fragrant. Place them on a plate and lightly salt and sugar them.
  4. 4. In the pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat and sauté the cabbage for about 2–3 minutes. Add the Schupfnudeln and continue to fry everything together for about 5 minutes. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  5. 5. Serve the cabbage Schupfnudels on plates and top with the caramelized onions. Sprinkle with chives and sunflower seeds before serving. Enjoy your meal!
