  1. 1. Turn on the oven to 140 degrees Celsius with fan setting and let it preheat.
  2. 2. Wash the oranges under running water and pat them dry.
  3. 3. Grate about one teaspoon of the orange zest finely.
  4. 4. Cut the oranges in half and squeeze out the juice.
  5. 5. Sift the powdered sugar through a fine mesh sieve to remove lumps.
  6. 6. Separate the eggs and set the yolks aside for another use.
  7. 7. Place the egg whites and a pinch of salt into a large bowl.
  8. 8. Beat the egg mixture with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form.
  9. 9. Add the sifted powdered sugar gradually.
  10. 10. Continue beating until the mixture looks thick and creamy.
  11. 11. Gently fold in the coconut flakes, the grated orange zest, and one tablespoon of orange juice.
  12. 12. Fill the mixture into a piping bag or a freezer bag.
  13. 13. Cut off a small corner if you are using a freezer bag.
  14. 14. Line a baking tray with baking paper and place small baking wafers on it.
  15. 15. Pipe small mounds of the mixture onto the wafers.
  16. 16. Bake the macaroons in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes.
  17. 17. Remove the tray when the macaroons are light in color and crunchy.
  18. 18. Let the macaroons cool down completely on the tray.
