🍽️ Crispy Tofu with Peanut Sauce

Ingredients
- tofu, plain 400 g
- garlic cloves 2 pcs.
- ginger, fresh 10 g
- soy sauce 4 tbsp
- sugar 1 tbsp
- lemon juice 1 tbsp
- chili, ground pinch
- peanut butter 2 tbsp
- water 5 tbsp
- basmati rice 300 g
- salt pinch
- broccoli 1 pcs.
- spring onions 1 bunch
- sesame, white 4 tbsp
- breadcrumbs 4 tbsp
- oil 5 tbsp
- pepper, black ground pinch
Instructions
- 1. Pat the tofu dry with kitchen paper.
- 2. Peel one clove of garlic and chop it finely.
- 3. Peel the ginger and chop it finely.
- 4. In a bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, the chopped garlic, the chopped ginger, and ground chili.
- 5. Add the tofu to the marinade.
- 6. Let the tofu marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- 7. Peel the remaining garlic.
- 8. In a tall container, whisk together 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 5 tablespoons of water, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
- 9. Put the rice in a pot.
- 10. Cover the rice with about 700 milliliters of salted water.
- 11. Bring the water to a boil.
- 12. Reduce the heat to low to medium.
- 13. Cover the pot.
- 14. Cook the rice for about 12 minutes.
- 15. Bring about 1 liter of salted water to a boil in a pot on high heat.
- 16. Wash the broccoli.
- 17. Remove the stem from the broccoli.
- 18. Divide the top part of the broccoli into florets about 1 centimeter in size.
- 19. Wash the spring onions.
- 20. Shake the spring onions dry.
- 21. Slice the spring onions into thin rings.
- 22. Add the broccoli florets to the boiling water.
- 23. Cook the broccoli florets for about 5 minutes until al dente.
- 24. Drain the broccoli.
- 25. Shock the broccoli with cold water.
- 26. Mix sesame seeds and breadcrumbs in a shallow dish.
- 27. Take the tofu out of the marinade.
- 28. Press the tofu into the breadcrumbs on all sides.
- 29. Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a pan on medium to high heat.
- 30. Fry the tofu for about 5 minutes until crispy on all sides.
- 31. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in another pan on high heat.
- 32. Fry the broccoli for about 5 minutes.
- 33. Add the remaining marinade from the tofu.
- 34. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
- 35. Serve the crispy tofu with the peanut sauce, spring onions, and rice.
