  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  2. 2. Cut the marzipan into small cubes.
  3. 3. Beat the sugar and eggs in a bowl with a hand mixer and whisk for about 3 minutes until thick and creamy.
  4. 4. Stir the marzipan cubes and the amaretto into the egg mixture.
  5. 5. Let the cherries drain in a sieve.
  6. 6. Melt the butter in a pot.
  7. 7. Grease a 26 cm springform pan lightly with the melted butter.
  8. 8. Lay out the puff pastry on the work surface so that the short sides overlap.
  9. 9. Brush the pastry lightly with butter.
  10. 10. Spread the marzipan cream lengthwise about 5 cm from the bottom edge of the pastry.
  11. 11. Leave about 3 to 4 cm of pastry free on the short sides.
  12. 12. Place the cherries evenly on the cream.
  13. 13. Fold the short sides of the pastry slightly over the filling.
  14. 14. Roll the pastry lengthwise from the bottom up.
  15. 15. Place the roll in a spiral shape into the springform pan.
  16. 16. Brush the roll with the remaining butter.
  17. 17. Bake the cherry swirl in the oven for about 35 to 40 minutes until crispy.
  18. 18. Take it out.
  19. 19. Dust it with powdered sugar.
  20. 20. Serve it lukewarm.
