🍽️ Crispy Gouda Sticks with Cranberry Curry Dip

Ingredients
- Gouda, medium-aged block 400 g
- Chives, fresh 20 g
- Eggs 3 pcs.
- Breadcrumbs 100 g
- Salt 1 tbsp
- Curry powder 2 tbsp
- Spatzle flour, Type 630 50 g
- Frying oil 250 ml
- Cranberries 8 tbsp
- Thyme, stripped 1 tbsp
- Yogurt, plain 8 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Cut the Gouda cheese into sticks about 1 centimeter thick.
- 2. Wash the chives and slice them into fine rings.
- 3. Crack two eggs into a deep plate and whisk them well.
- 4. Put breadcrumbs and half of the chives into a second plate.
- 5. Season the breadcrumb mixture with salt and one tablespoon of curry powder.
- 6. Mix the breadcrumb ingredients well together.
- 7. Put the flour into a third plate.
- 8. Coat the Gouda sticks first in the flour.
- 9. Dip the floured sticks into the whisked eggs.
- 10. Gently roll the egg-coated sticks in the breadcrumb mixture.
- 11. Make sure the cheese is completely covered by the breadcrumbs.
- 12. Heat the frying oil in a pan to about 180 degrees Celsius.
- 13. Fry the cheese sticks all around for about 1 minute until golden brown.
- 14. Let the finished sticks drain on kitchen paper.
- 15. Let the sticks cool down for a few minutes.
- 16. Put cranberries, thyme, yogurt, and the remaining curry powder into a small bowl.
- 17. Mix the ingredients for the dip well together.
- 18. Serve the lukewarm cheese sticks with the cranberry curry dip.
