Ingredients
- Soft Dates, dried and pitted 300 g
- Butter 200 g
- Brown Sugar 180 g
- Cinnamon 0.5 tsp
- Salt Pinch
- Eggs 2 pcs.
- Quark 40% fat in total solids 300 g
- Wheat Flour, Type 405 600 g
- Baking Powder 2 tsp
- Milk 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection). Roughly chop the dates.
- 2. Mix butter, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl with a hand mixer and beat the mixture until creamy. Add the eggs one by one. Then stir in the quark and the dates. Mix the flour with the baking powder and knead it briefly into the dough.
- 3. Divide the dough on a floured work surface into 8 pieces and shape small buns, without kneading too much. Place them with some space on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush the buns thinly with milk and bake them in the oven for about 35 minutes until golden brown.
- 4. Let the small date buns cool on a cake rack. Enjoy your meal! Tip: The date buns taste especially good if you spread them with a little butter.
